Horizon Quantum and dMY Squared, a publicly traded special purpose acquisition company led by Harry You, jointly announced today that they have entered into a non-binding letter of intent for a business combination.

The program is an ecosystem of quantum computing hardware, software and service providers who build and offer integral components of a functional quantum computing system.

The system, which is expected to be installed by early 2025 will be controlled by the OPX1000 platform from Quantum Machines and integrated with our software development environment, Triple Alpha.

Singapore, 31 March 2023 – Horizon Quantum Computing, a Singapore-based company building software development tools to unlock the potential of quantum computing hardware, announced today that it has raised USD 18.1 million Series A investment from Sequoia Capital India, Tencent, SGInnovate, Pappas Capital and Expeditions Fund.

The Dublin office will be Horizon’s first outside of Singapore. As quantum computers become ever more powerful, how can we be sure that the answers they return are accurate? A team of physicists, including Horizon’s CEO Joe Fitzsimons, have developed a new method to use one unreliable quantum processor to verify another and implemented it on five different quantum processors.

Marie-Christine Roehsner, Joshua A. Kettlewell, Joe Fitzsimons (Horizon’s CEO) and Philip Walther, engineered and experimentally realized a new protocol for running probabilistic one-time programs on a quantum computer that resolved major drawbacks of all previously known schemes. By encoding classical software in small quantum states, the team was able to design and successfully execute single use copies of quantum software.

Quantum algorithms for practical machine learning models can load data from QRAM in constant time without violating the search lower bound. The study, published in Quantum Machine Intelligence Journal, was conducted by Jansen Zhikuan Zhao, Jack F., Patrick Rebentrost, Vedran Dunjko and Joe Fitzsimons (Horizon’s CEO).

This new approach doesn’t require any communication between the client and server once the data has been passed off, while providing some data security for a variety of quantum computations. The study was conducted by Jonas Zeuner, Ioannis Pitsios, Si-Hui Tan (Horizon's CSO), Aditya N. Sharma, Joe Fitzsimons (Horizon's CEO), Roberto Osellame and Philip Walther.

Today we announce that we have increased our seed financing to SGD 4.5 million (USD 3.23 million) thanks to a seed-plus round led by Sequoia Capital India with participation from previous investors SGInnovate, Abies Ventures, DCVC, Qubit Protocol, Summer Capital and Posa CV. The additional funding will allow us to accelerate the speed at which we can bring our innovative technology to market, to further engage with customers and early adopters and to continue strengthening our team.
